Inter Miami welcomed a Club record 7,939 fans into its newly titled DRV PNK Stadium for the teams’ MLS season opener against LA Galaxy on Sunday, April 18th.
With the club’s three supporter groups: The Siege, Vice City 1896, and Southern Legion, on full display, midfielder Robbie Robinson was quick to highlight their impact on Inter Miami’s performance.
“I’ve said so many times that I think we have the best fans in the league. It’s a great support, it’s the 12th-man as they say. We need that, we need the continued support and it’s amazing to see really,” said Robinson
Head Coach Phil Neville was also impressed by the ‘performance of the ‘12th-man,’ citing their energy and enthusiasm throughout the game, despite of the result or weather.
“I think that having our supporters in here today was an incredible atmosphere. I think the intensity in the game, was incredible in the circumstances, with the temperature and the fact that it’s the first game of the season. I think from an emotional and an occasion point of view, think it was everything and more that I wanted and expected and I've got to say, I loved every single minute of it apart from the results,” said Neville
