With the ink on his contract dry, the next thing in Leerdam’s sight is the chance to get to meet his new teammates and begin to forge a bond as the team pushes to compete for titles.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the other players, getting to know their character and how everybody is, and building chemistry. The next thing I’m looking forward to is what I spoke with Chris about, to try to bring a championship to the Club. It’s a new team, a young team, but I think the project the team has is very good and ambitious, especially with the region the Club is in, it has such a big reach. I think if we can win some titles it will be big for the region. Miami is a special city, it’s a big city and everybody knows it. If we can connect to the city even more by winning titles, I think it’s going to be very big. I want to do my part in that.”

Lastly, Leerdam shared his message for Inter Miami fans ahead of the 2021 season.

“Expect me to give my all, and expect very attacking, creative fútbol. I hope we can bring a championship to the region; I know that’s what the people want, I know the people in Florida are very passionate. Hopefully we can connect with their passion by playing great fútbol and bringing a championship which is the ultimate goal.”
