Inter Miami CF Supports Virtual Learning with Back to School Program presented by Gallagher

With the virtual start of the 2020-21 school year in South Florida underway, Inter Miami CF launched its first back to school program this week in collaboration with Gallagher.

Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, became the presenting partner of the Club’s back to school program, and donated funds for Inter Miami’s community programs. The funds helped the Club secure Amazon Fire tablets for over 150 students in virtual classrooms across Dade and Broward counties.

“As the school year kicked off, regrettably not all families had access to the technology or tools needed to participate in virtual classrooms,” said Chris Allan, Inter Miami CF’s VP of Community Engagement. “Our Club was fortunate to secure the support of Gallagher to compile 150 Adidas backpacks with brand-new Amazon Fire tablets for students identified as in need in our community.”

Distribution began this week in the City of Miami with Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla’s office in District 1. The Allapattah NET office, Latinos United & Action Center and the Allapattah Branch Library assisted the Commissioner’s office and Inter Miami in selecting 30 students for the first wave of donations.

“Gallagher has served the community for decades, helping many southern Florida schools and businesses navigate through risk,” said Chris Mead, Gallagher’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Furthering this connection, we are proud to team up with Inter Miami CF and the back-to-school program to help students entering a challenging school year.”

Inter Miami players and staff worked together to pack the bags in a safe environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Inter Miami’s partners including Baptist Health, Publix, Papa Johns, Dunkin’, BODYARMOR, Kellogg’s and Good Greek Moving came together to support the back to school program, donating school supplies, hand sanitizer, gift cards and more.
