Inter Miami played host to the U.S. Men’s National Team this week, culminating in Wednesday night’s 6-0 victory over El Salvador at Inter Miami CF Stadium.
The match marked the first external event hosted at Inter Miami CF Stadium following a season of MLS home games. On Wednesday, there was a limited capacity of fans allowed into the match, creating an energetic atmosphere while following the comprehensive U.S. Soccer Return to Play Protocols.
The team looked comfortable in South Florida, scoring early and often en route to a 6-0 victory.
Before the match, USMNT Head Coach Gregg Berhalter indicated that the group was enjoying its stay at Inter Miami’s facilities, giving rave reviews to both the stadium and the Inter Miami CF Training Center.
"I was blown away by this facility. Absolutely blown away by the training ground and by the stadium. To think that it's a temporary stadium, I can't believe it," said Berhalter. "The design, the branding, the coloring, the architecture, everything is fantastic. It's a really, really great place to train.”
According to Berhalter, a return to the facilities could be on the cards for the USMNT in the future.
“I can envision this being a spot where we come before we have to bounce off to the Caribbean or Central America at times, so I'm really happy with that," he added before the match.
