Inter Miami Owner and President of Soccer Operations David Beckham visited Inter Miami CF Stadium with his family this past Saturday on what was scheduled to be the Club's home debut. This marked a special moment for the group as it was the first time the entire Beckham family visited the Club facilities. Inter Miami was set to play his old club, the LA Galaxy, in the first-ever match played at the stadium. Still, despite a quick turnaround, the stadium was ready for match day just 10 months and one week after the demolition of what previously stood at the site.
Beckham's journey to this moment dates back to February 2014 when he formally exercised his option to buy an MLS expansion team. Throughout that time, he has had the support of his family, including his wife Victoria Beckham.
Fittingly, Inter Miami CF Stadium played "Too Much" by the Spice Girls over the speakers as the pair stepped out onto the grass together.
The couple's children also joined them at Inter Miami CF Stadium to take in the sights on a special occasion. The 18,000-capacity stadium and state-of-the-art training complex stand at the old Lockhart Stadium site, just 312 days after its demolition.
David and Victoria Beckham's sons Romeo , 17, Brooklyn , 21, Cruz , 14, and their daughter Harper Seven , 8, toured the facilities in South Florida on Saturday and even got to play soccer at the training facility. They also expressed their admiration for what their father has accomplished with the Club.
