Inter Miami CF began voluntary individual workouts today at Inter Miami CF Training Complex in compliance with health and safety protocols created in consultation with infectious disease experts and the medical team at Baptist Health.
Players and staff arrived and departed at staggered times throughout the day. Players were required to use personal protective equipment from the parking lot to the field, and again on return to the parking, and staff was required to use the appropriate personal protective equipment throughout training, while also maintaining a minimum distance of 10 feet from players at all times.
Access to the training facilities was prohibited, including but not limited to locker rooms, team gyms, and team training rooms.
The players used the Club's outdoor fields, divided into a maximum of four quadrants per field. A maximum of one player per quadrant was allowed to participate per training session with no equipment sharing or playing (passing, shooting) between players.
Completion of a Standard Screening Assessment survey by each player prior to every arrival at the training site, and temperature checks upon arrival at the facility were administered.
Sanitization and disinfection plans for all training equipment and spaces between every session were implemented.
While it was far from a normal day at the office, the smiles on the faces of players and staff were evident as the Club took a first step towards a return to fútbol.
