The Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health continued its 2021 spring season with more competitive matches against local clubs over the last two weeks.
Each age group featured in two matches over that time, with both home matches at the Inter Miami CF Training Center and away matches. The players continued to showcase their standout abilities, resulting in more dazzling goals.
Velez received a long switch from a teammate out wide on the left, way outside of the box and right up against the touchline, controlled the ball with one touch, and delivered a stunner. Velez' strike drifted far enough to beat the keeper and hit the side netting on the inside of the far post.
Hardin did good work without the ball to help set up his goal, finding space between defenders and drifting off the shoulder of the defensive line. He received a pass from his teammate on the edge of the right side of the box, and found himself at an acute angle with few options; Hardin processed quickly and swung his right foot through the ball, powering it into the roof of the net for a goal.
Rojas initiated this play with delicate control, receiving a pass with his back to goal on the edge of the box. He swiftly spun past his marker and took one touch to control before hitting a low, driven shot past the keeper and inside the far post for a goal.
A beautiful team goal set Ellis up for a cheeky finish on this occasion. After a threaded pass from midfield to the left wing and a low cross from the winger, Ellis found himself on the end of the pass just in front of the keeper; he calmly megged the keeper, slotting his shot into the back of the net
Quevedo found himself in the right place at the right time after a scramble in the box saw the ball pop out to him on the edge of the box. He calmly measured up a shot as the ball approached him and hit a low strike past the defense, past the keeper, and into the back of the net.
A pair of surging runs culminated in a lovely goal, as a teammate first beat a defender and ran down the left win before delivering a threaded pass into the box for Meneus, who made his own surging run past a defender to get onto the end of the pass. Meneus caught up to the pass and calmly slid a shot past the onrushing keeper to cap the move.
Dearmin solo goal saw him receive a pass up against the left touchline at midfield, beat one defender, and take off at top speed towards the box. He cut in from the wing onto his right foot, beating several other defenders, and calmly shooting back across his body to beat the keeper with a shot inside of the left post.
Veves showed great instinct to make a long run down the right wing while play was developing on the other side of the field. Dearmin slid a pass past the last line of defense that Veves met, slid into, and struck past the keeper for a goal.
Vieux showed strength and control, receiving a pass from a teammate while shielding the ball from the center back, taking a couple of touches while fending him off, and delivering a low, left-footed shot across the keeper and into the net.
Lobo found himself in position to have two cracks at goal in this move, first connecting with a looping cross and heading past the keeper, but his shot was cleared off the line. He quickly reacted, tracked down the clearance and controlled a bouncing ball, beat a defender, and this time struck with enough power to beat the defense and the keeper.
A nifty passing move saw the ball cycle between teammates, switching play from wing to wing before White came forward and received the ball at the top of the box. His first touch was a clean one, taking him past his defender and setting himself up to swing a right-footed shot into the top left corner for a goal.
