The Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health returned to competitive action last weekend, kicking off its participation in the 2021 MLS Next Spring League.
The Club’s U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, and U-17 teams all opened their seasons at the Inter Miami CF Training Center, giving the players a chance to stretch their competitive legs again after a winter break. The matches produced a number of outstanding goals, showing the break didn’t slow anybody down.
Lobo displayed excellent awareness on the move, timing a run in behind the defense before meeting a cross with a clever finish; the youngster swung a leg out and powered a side-foot finish past the keeper and into the net.
Ramos flashed impressive technical ability, drifting into a pocket of space behind the striker and receiving a pass with his back to goal while turning and beating a defender. He took one touch towards goal before unleashing a powerful strike from outside of the box that struck the inside of the post and found the back of the net.
Addimandi made a patient run towards the far post, awaiting a long delivery from his teammate on the opposite side of the field. He was rewarded for his effort with a pinpoint cross that he met with a lunging volley that crept inside the post for a goal.
Jena's sensational goal was a product of great work on the ball; he received a pass on the turn inside his own half, dribbled down the left wing, cut inside to beat a defender and hit a venomous long range shot to beat the keeper at the near post.
Estrada showed the value hard work and effort, pressing high up the field and winning possession with an interception at the top of the box. He then calmly dribbled towards goal and delivered a powerful low strike inside the near post, beating the keeper.
